Vulnerable and marginalized people in Kolda, Senegal face many healthcare challenges such as:
- Disparities that result in a daily loss of lives in rural and underserved areas;
- Lack of an the insufficient number of physicians including radiologists and OB/GYN, which makes basic medical check-ups and screening tests unavailable to pregnant women, thus resulting in high maternal and infant mortality rate
- The higher medical cost deprives millions from necessary preventive care
- hospital and health centers with inadequate diagnostic and treatment capabilities
- Poor customer service
KDF helps tackle these challenges through partnership, capacity building, technology transfer, and business process reengineering to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
