Oumou Balde was born in Kolda. She is the VP of Communication & Public Relations of KDF. Oumou holds a BA in Information and Communication from ISSIC, Dakar, Senegal. She is currently pursuing a MBA degree at BBC University. Oumou has many technical skills including in news broadcasting (television, radio), print media, Adobe video editing, public relations, and event management.
Oumou Balde has more than 15 years of work experience including 10 years at Radio Television Senegalaise-RTS. Since 2016, she has been the prime time (8 pm) news anchor of the State owned news broadcasting company. Prior to that, she was a reporter, columnist, and presenter of the morning show Breakfast Kenkelibaa program for the same company. Oumou worked as the Communication and Press Relations Coordinator for Iressef and is the co-founder of Elo Communication Agency.
Oumou Balde is a trailblazer for the defense of the less fortunate and marginalized people of her native city and region of Kolda.She has a history of making donations to support social justice, education, and workforce development.
